Sai Satcharitra is a holy book. It helps devotees learn how Baba lived his simple life before he attained Mahasamadhi in 1918. Reading about Baba’s life helps devotees to learn how Baba inspired and transformed the thoughts, mind and character of the people.
According to Sai Satcharitra, “If you hear Baba’s leelas daily, you will always see him. Day and night you will remember him in your mind. When you absorb Baba in this way, your mind will lose its fickleness. If you continue in this manner, it will finally merge in pure consciousness”.
Simple yet profound
‘Shri Sai Satchratira’ explains the concepts of God and spirituality in a simple way. It does not require any additional book to understand it. While reading it, the devotees, often feel as if they are living those experiences. They associated closely with the events in the life of Baba.
Shri Sai Baba had asked his devotees for only for two things: Shraddha and Saburi. He works on our devotion and prayer but we have to keep faith and patience.
How can you be closer to Baba?
By being humble, pure, simple, and innocent one gets closer to Baba. He is the form of love and lives in everybody’s heart.
Baba had stated: “Be wherever you like, do whatever you choose, remember that all what you do is known to Me. I am the Inner Ruler of all and seated in everyone’s hearts. I am the mother of all beings, the Harmony of three Gunas, the propeller of all senses, the Creator, Preserver and Destroyer. Nothing will harm him, who turns his attention towards Me.”
Sai Baba had emphasised on the oneness of all creation. In his own words, “My abode is in your heart and I am within you. Always worship me. I am in your heart and in the hearts of all beings. He who knows me is blessed and fortunate.”
Realizing the self
According to Him, for realizing the self, one has to give five things, (i.e. surrender five things) (1) five pranas (vital forces), (2) five senses (five of action and five of perception), (3) mind, (4) intellect and (5) ego. this path of brahma-jnana of self-realization is ‘as hard as to tread on the edge of a razor.Being quite desire less, one should meditate on the lord, who is in all the creatures, and when the mind is concentrated, the goal will be achieved.”
Gift to mankind
Sai Satcharitra is a unique gift for the mankind. It teaches us not to project on the mind irrelevant details and pollute it with fumes of envy and greed. Sai Baba stressed upon his devotees to lead a life based on ethics and morality. To help others and love everyone without discrimination. He was the living example of inner purity, compassion, service to the Guru through Complete Surrender of the body, mind and soul.
The profound teaching through the medium of Udi was the transient aspect of the phenomenal world. Similarly, through the medium of Dakshina, He highlighted the sense of non-attachment to the objects of the mundane world. Baba’s care for earth and nature is well seen from His Lendi Bagh that he originally created from barren land and planted all the flowering plants and watered them by Himself. He stressed on feeding all living creatures. Daily several animals were fed from the food that He obtained from begging.
The advent of Sai Baba of Shirdi on the earth was to reiterate steadfast love for God to lead mankind to the realm of eternity. The lessons imparted by Sai Satcharitra make people conscious of their divine nature. The people who follow His teachings are drenched with eternal bliss and are indeed blessed souls.
